Effective 2 July 2025
OUR PRIVACY PROMISE
At Comms Link, our priority is building trust with our customers. As part of this commitment, we are fully dedicated to respecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal data is secure at all stages of your journey with us. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) is designed to inform you – our valued customer – about how your data is handled when you visit or use our websites, so you can feel confident engaging with our services from day one.
Who we are
Comms Link is part of TechRound Technologies. When you use our services, Comms Link (“we” or “us”) acts as a ‘data controller’ – meaning we are responsible for determining how your personal data is used and ensuring it is protected. We are registered as a data controller with the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number ZB512804. You can confirm our registration on the ICO’s website.
Your data rights
You have several important rights when it comes to your personal data. These include the right to revoke your consent and the right to object to direct marketing at any time. You may exercise any of these rights by emailing david@dsr-digital.co.uk.
Our Services
Depending on which of our sites you are visiting, Comms Link offers a variety of services. When you’re on one of our sites, it should always be clear which service applies to you.
Our services include:
- Requests for quotes or information: We aim to connect customers with relevant providers (“Suppliers”) of a product or service (“Product”) that they are interested in. This may be to receive a quote, request more information, or book a consultation or appointment.
- Earning opportunities: We help our customers find and take part in online surveys and other earning opportunities (“Offers”) provided by market research companies (also referred to as “Suppliers”).
- Editorial content: Our editorial team creates product reviews, informative articles, and newsletters to help our users make informed decisions about products they are considering or offers they may wish to engage with.
- Competitions, prize draws and events: From time to time, we run competitions, prize draws, and events for our customers.
- News and insights: We provide news, updates, and insights into industries, recommended products and services, exclusive offers, and relevant developments across our brands.
- User research: We may invite customers to participate in research or studies aimed at improving the user experience with our products and services.
HOW OUR SITES WORK
At Comms Link, our goal is to help customers make informed buying decisions and to connect them with relevant suppliers as quickly and efficiently as possible. Our services are always obligation-free, so whether you choose to move forward with a purchase, book an appointment, or sign up for an offer, the choice is entirely yours.
Unless you’re just browsing our editorial content, our services typically rely on you submitting information through a webform on one of our websites. Once you’ve submitted a form, we do our best to connect you with one or more suitable suppliers. This could involve us sharing your name, contact details, and product interests with relevant providers, who may then follow up with you directly via phone, email, or SMS. In some cases, we may contact you ourselves first to confirm your requirements or to help you schedule an appointment. You may also be given the option to click through directly to a supplier’s site or call them directly.
If you register to receive news and insights from us, we’ll send you periodic updates featuring helpful advice, exclusive offers, and the latest information about products and services that may interest you. If you sign up to download materials from a supplier, we’ll share your name, contact details, and relevant product interests with them so they can follow up accordingly.
When it comes to earning opportunities such as surveys, our sign-up forms let you select the specific offers you’re interested in. After submission, you’ll receive confirmation emails—either from us or directly from the supplier you selected—containing a link to verify your interest. Clicking that link will take you to the supplier’s site to complete your sign-up. You’ll also receive a general welcome message from us introducing you to our community.
RECEIVING MARKETING MESSAGES
We like to keep you informed about products and offers you might be interested in. As such, we may send you emails or SMS messages about similar products and offers related to your initial request, unless you choose to opt out.
You can manage your preferences anytime via Your Privacy Choices. You can also:
- Opt-out of emails by clicking the unsubscribe link within the email.
- Opt-out of SMS messages by replying with “STOP”.
Occasionally, we may also ask if you’d like to receive browser notifications. These pop-up requests may appear on our sites—usually at the end of a webform. If you opt in, you’ll receive regular alerts about our latest offers, helpful content, and top tips. Each notification gives you the option to unsubscribe by adjusting your notification settings.
For further details about how we use your phone number in calls or SMS messages, please refer to the section titled ‘How Your Telephone Number Is Used When We Contact You By Phone or SMS Message.’
WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT & HOW WE USE IT
When you visit our sites or use our services, we collect certain information to help us provide the best experience and to connect you with relevant suppliers. Here’s an overview of what we collect, why we collect it, and the legal basis for doing so.
We collect your contact details—such as your name, email address, phone number, and postal code—when you complete our webforms or pop-ups, or when we speak to you directly. We use this information to connect you with relevant suppliers, confirm your requirements, book appointments, and send you more information about the products you’ve shown interest in. We rely on your consent to do this, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.
We may also use your contact details to send you marketing messages about similar products or offers. This is also based on your consent, and you can opt out at any time. In some cases, we rely on legitimate interests, which you have the right to object to.
Our platform may use automated decision-making to determine which suppliers are best suited to handle your request, based on the information you’ve provided. This is done under legitimate interests to provide a quick and relevant match.
To ensure that the data you submit is genuine, we may use verification tools provided by third parties. This helps us protect the integrity of our services and is also based on legitimate interests.
If you contact us for customer service support—such as leaving feedback, submitting queries, or asking questions—we use this information to respond and improve our service. Again, this falls under our legitimate interests.
We may also use your data for marketing analysis, like building custom or lookalike audiences, and identifying trends. Similarly, we may enrich our understanding by matching your business-related data with third-party data to better segment our customer base. Both activities are conducted under legitimate interests.
If you enter your postal code, we use that to display relevant appointment locations near you. This helps us provide locally tailored services and is based on legitimate interests.
If you begin filling out a webform but don’t finish submitting it, we may send a reminder to see if you’re still interested. We do this under legitimate interests.
When you create an account, we process your information to manage your account. This is also under legitimate interests.
If you participate in events, competitions, or surveys hosted by Comms Link, we use your data to organise and manage these activities, and to contact you as necessary. Where we run these activities with a third party, we may share your entry details with them for management purposes only. This use of your data is under legitimate interests.
When you join our mailing lists—for newsletters, guides, or downloadable content—we use your email address to send you what you signed up for. If you’ve given consent for us to share your details with named third parties, we will do so accordingly. These communications are sent based on your consent, which you may revoke at any time.
If you post reviews or comments on our websites, we may publish or respond to them as part of maintaining a trusted online environment. This is handled under legitimate interests.
When you sign up to participate in user research, we collect your data to ensure a diverse and representative group of participants. This also falls under legitimate interests.
We may also receive your data from third-party data providers, in which case we may contact you about our services, products, or insights under legitimate interests.

Occasionally, we may collect sensitive personal information, such as medical conditions, when you use our services related to health products. We only collect this type of information through webform submissions or follow-up calls where health-specific product requirements are relevant. The purpose is to help us assess which health suppliers may be appropriate for your needs. This data is only collected and used with your explicit consent.
