Bracknell is now one of the best-connected towns in the UK, thanks to CityFibre’s completion of its full fibre network. The new infrastructure is now ready for service to over 30,000 homes, covering around 83% of Bracknell households, as well as most businesses.
The £20 million project, which began in 2021, is part of CityFibre’s nationwide expansion and marks a significant step forward for digital connectivity in the town. While the main network is now complete, CityFibre will continue working to connect even more properties, including flats, new-build homes, business parks, and homes on private roads.
CityFibre’s network delivers lightning-fast speeds, with download and upload capabilities of up to 2.5Gbps. In the future, it will support symmetrical speeds of up to 10Gbps, far surpassing the UK’s current average broadband speeds of 69.4Mbps download and 18.4Mbps upload.
Bracknell residents can now access affordable, gigabit-capable full fibre broadband from a range of providers, including Vodafone, TalkTalk, Giganet, IDNet, and Zen. Homes already covered by the network can schedule an installation within just five working days of placing an order.
