The real power of 5G-enabled VoIP is that it allowed us to bake AI and IoT into day-to-day enterprise communications in ways we couldn’t do with 4G. We’ve seen a few use cases explode in value. One is providing AI to transcribe calls in real time for the front line, ops people, and execs who are now empowered to listen in.
On 5G, the transcript and call sentiment info can be delivered literally as the customer hangs up. That in turn means managers can intervene mid-call to improve coaching and QC and thus reduce escalations by double digit percentages (in one healthcare case from 28/day to under 10). But this is just the beginning.
