Comms Council UK (CCUK), the representative body for telecommunication companies who offer their Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services to businesses and residents of the UK, announced today that they have appointed a new Chair, Tracey Wright.
This comes after Eli Katz, who has been the Chair for the last 20 years, stepped down on Monday the 6th of January 2025. Katz has now been granted the Lifetime President title after starting with the Council in 2005. What initially started with 12 members, has now grown to more than 100.
Wright, the managing director of Magrathea Telecommunications, will serve as the CCUK Chair voluntarily alongside her current MD role.
She was chosen based on her prior contributions to the CCUK, which includes the co-founding of the Women In Telecoms Group that now supports 188 members, and her involvement in the Industry Developments Working Group.
Speaking on her appointment, Wright said, “I am thrilled to be stepping into the role of Chair in an exciting year for CCUK as we celebrate our 20th anniversary. I’ve been involved in the association from the beginning, and we’ve gone from strength to strength; with a whole lot more to come in 2025. Alongside some celebrations and reminiscing, I will ensure that CCUK remains a leading voice in the sector as the UK moves to all-IP communications and remain laser-focused on key issues for our sector, including fraud, the upcoming Fixed Voice Telecoms Market Review and continuing to champion women in telecoms.”
