Freshwave and Electracom Projects have successfully delivered reliable 4G connectivity from all four major mobile network operators (MNOs) to 8 Bishopsgate, one of London’s newest skyscrapers.

This 50-storey building, located in the heart of the City of London, uses modern construction materials that block mobile signals from entering the building. To solve this issue, Freshwave designed and installed a 4G distributed antenna system (DAS) to ensure strong mobile coverage inside the building.

The project not only provides mobile signal to common areas within the building but also allows tenants to connect to the service. Sixteen tenants have already signed up, thanks to a flexible “pay-as-you-occupy” model agreed upon by 8 Bishopsgate, Freshwave, and Electracom.

Brendan Hourihane, Senior Director at Freshwave, emphasised the importance of reliable mobile connectivity: “Mobile signal is a must in today’s world, whether it’s for making deals in the office or staying connected with family. We’re thrilled to bring full coverage from all four operators to such a remarkable building, thanks to our partnership with Electracom Projects.”

Nick Seaton, Director at Electracom Projects, highlighted the building’s cutting-edge technology: “8 Bishopsgate is a smart building where technology plays a vital role in enhancing the experience for both staff and tenants. From unlocking doors to booking event spaces, everything is integrated into a mobile app, so dependable mobile signal was a top priority for us. Partnering with Freshwave has made this possible.”
