Giffgaff has officially joined Nexfibre as its second wholesale customer, marking a major milestone for Nexfibre’s expansion strategy. The partnership reinforces the strength of Nexfibre’s next-generation, full-fibre network powered by XGS-PON technology.
Giffgaff is now trialling its new full fibre broadband service using Nexfibre’s infrastructure, with plans to roll out more widely across the upgraded Virgin Media O2 network in the future. This makes Giffgaff the first external ISP to use Virgin Media O2’s wholesale capabilities, following Virgin Media’s own use of the platform.
The new broadband trial is being offered to 500 customers, who will receive ultrafast 500Mbps speeds for just £10 per month for the first year. These new users join a small group already testing the service during its early trial phase.
Rajiv Datta, CEO of Nexfibre, welcomed the news: “We’re delighted to have Giffgaff on board. This partnership validates our investment in future-ready XGS-PON infrastructure and reflects our commitment to building a high-quality full-fibre wholesale platform. Giffgaff understands the value of symmetrical speeds and low latency – essential for delivering an excellent user experience.”
Giffgaff’s move into broadband signals an exciting step forward for both companies, combining affordable pricing with cutting-edge connectivity for UK households.
